Pint-ness or Fitness by Pinterest

It's amazing what you can find on Pinterest when you tear yourself away from 'Women's Fashion' category and give 'Health and Fitness' a chance. This work out is amazing. I have tried and tested it. It's amazing for those who have no time to hit the gym or go out.

For a flat stomach that I still crave!

Here's a work out that will surely give you the tummy you desire! Or a non-tummy you desire! I have been super obsessed with abs work out since time immemorial. Actually I do remember the date - 4th Sept 2011. My first day in the gym which felt like a scary jungle with people looking at me with judgmental eyes. Oh! Here comes the brand ambassador of obesity. I didn't feel intimidated or small. How could I?! Weighing 108 kgs, I felt that may be i deserved those looks. But I was determined. I knew I would turn those judgmental looks into looks of appreciation; and I did. Yay!

So coming back to the abs work out (deviate much?), here's what to do.

Slimmer Saturdays...Workout for a slimmer tummy!

Sorry I missed Slimmer Saturdays yesterday. I am getting married in 3 weeks and I have a huge list of things to do every Saturday. So I keep my Sundays for blogging what I may have missed during the week.

Getting back to Slimmer Saturdays, I have decided to alternate between a diet and an exercise post. Today is the exercise post.

My biggest problem area has been my stomach/abs/tummy or as I called it - my Fl-Abs! I think at the peak of my obsession against my fl-abs, I did up to a 1000 crunches a day, which, now when I look back, seem excessive. So what I have here is a list of abdominal exercises with maximum power. Don't forget you need an hour of cardio with this workout. For help with what the exercise is or how to do it correctly, I suggest that you you-tube the workout. And No. Just looking at the video doesn't make you thin! You have to do the exercises:




30 Crunches
30 Toe touches while lying down
20 Bicycle crunches
20 reverse crunches

Sip of water + 25 Jumping jacks
-------------------
15 Side Plank hip lifts (lying down on the right side)
30 Crunches
15 Side Plank hip lifts (Lying down on the left side)

100 skipping
-------------------
30 bicycle crunches
20 reverse crunches
20 Russian twists (each side0
-------------------
50 knee up jumps

As you get more comfortable with these exercises, you can increase the number of reps or do the whole routine again to increase the intensity.

Slimmer Saturdays - Lean, Mean, Breakfast eating machine!

I am not going to beat around the bush with this one, since I'm sure you've heard this plenty of times. NO MATTER WHAT! EAT BREAKFAST.



The difference for me, between eating breakfast and not eating breakfast was about 5-6 kgs. I had a brilliant idea that if I got up late, skipped breakfast, went straight for a salad lunch and then continued on with my evening snack and dinner, I would avoid 400 calories. Oh gosh I couldn't have been wronger!!! I ended up putting on more, and mind you, I was working out for about an hour everyday.

So now that you know that breakfast is important, I guess you'd like to know what to eat for breakfast. Here's my standard breakfast menu from Monday to Saturday (Sunday is my cheat day). It's so simple that whether you're running late or have the whole day off, this breakfast will be Quick and Easy.

1. A medium sized bowl of Muesli mixed with All Bran or Kellogg's special K with toned milk
2. Three egg whites boiled with black pepper (yellows removed from the egg after boiling)
3. Two slices of whole wheat bread. One with Nuttella and one with Peanut butter.
4. A cup of black tea.

This is a wholesome breakfast. Nutritionists recommend all food groups in the morning. This breakfast contains Fibre, Protein, Carbohydrate, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Mono and Polyunsaturated Fats. This breakfast will ensure that your cravings are controlled through out the day.

Please remember that eating too less sends your body into starvation mode, which will end up making you pack on the pounds whether you eat healthy or not. Therefore, in order to lose weight you need to eat right.

Your body is sacred. Don't throw trash into it, treat it with respect. Love your body and it will love you back.

Lean Mango Lemonade..under 100 calories

So I went to this pretty li'l bistro in Hyderabad that serves lovely beverages and yummy food. Although refreshing, the drinks were a tad high on calories, and you know how we count every calorie we put in our bodies!!! Lol..! Vanity Insanity, i know!

I had the Mango Lemonade which was highly recommended by a fellow fashionista. It was delicious. And what's even better is that I came up with a leaner recipe. So try it out and let me know how it was.

You need:
1. 30 ml of Tropicana Mango juice (with no added sugar/preservatives.
2. Juice of 1 small lime
3. Rock Salt
4. Sugar free natura (optional)
5. Cold water(sparkling or flat)
6. Ice
7. A straw
8. An easy chair
9. A beautiful day

Mix the lime juice, rock salt and sugar free in a bowl. Add the cold water and stir. In a tall glass, add the mango juice and pour in the lime water mix. Add ice cubes and the straw. Stir n Sip while sitting on the easy chair. Enjoy the beautiful day. All under 100 calories!
